Jessica Bloch-Moisand
Jessica Bloch-Moisand’s reputation as a passionate educator, arts administrator, and performer runs deep. Her teaching philosophy involves giving her students the healthiest and most efficient way of using their voices for maximum freedom of expression. Jessica takes pride in advocating for her students and prioritizes compassion in a profoundly vulnerable and personal art form.
Jessica is the founder of Bloch Performing Arts and is on the Voice Faculty of the New England Conservatory Expanded Education programs. At Bloch Performing Arts, she teaches The Bloch Voice Studio participants, and holds masterclasses and recitals for the new studios: The Franklin Voice Studio and The Mayer Piano Studio. This coming summer 2025, Jessica is looking forward to joining the faculty at Varna International, teaching voice students in high school and college and guiding them in their performance tours of Bulgaria and Italy. In the summer 2023, she was on faculty at the Austria Summer Music Festival, where she taught voice lessons and directed the opera scenes program.
Her students have gone on to win competitions, perform lead roles, and receive cultural honors for their performances. Her students have many accomplishments, including 1st place in the BISB Young Musician of the Year, 1st place at NATS Vocal Competition for Musical Theater and Classical Voice, 1st place in the Student Hall Competition, singing The United States National Anthem at various high-profile events, attending summer programs at Julliard, Brevard, Interlochen, and more. Additionally Jessica gives her students the opportunity to experience theatrical performances through her collaborative music company: West End Lyric, and through MassOpera’s inaugural Community & Youth Ensemble. These companies tackle the responsibility of programming fresh and unique musical experiences with a focus on arts education, professional equity, and accessibility.
As a performer herself, Jessica is currently a performing artist with Opera 51: credits include debuting a new role in her first verismo opera as Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Beadle cover in Sweeney Todd. She is also continuing to plan a touring version of her song cycle commission: We Will Outlive Them... Letters to Rivka from Galicia for 2025.
Previously, Jessica has performed with Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, NEMPAC Opera, Christman Opera Company, Music Onsite Inc, Hartford Opera Theater, Opera Fusion, and at theaters such as Kurt Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Odeon Theater, and the Jorgensen Theater.
Jessica received her Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Music with an Italian minor from Florida State University, her Master Performance Certificate and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from The University of Connecticut under the tutelage of Dr. Constance Rock. Jessica currently studies with both Kirsten Arnold (formerly Chambers) and Dr. Dana Lynne Varga.
